What are Airwaystents and how do they work?
Nasal Airwaystents
There are three different product lengths which splint either the anterior nasal cavity only (1.5" Nasal Airway Stent) or the full length nasal passage (2" & 2.75" Airwaystents).
Our Airwaystents are medical devices indicated for the improvement of nasal breathing. A common cause of decreased nasal breathing is having enlarged turbinates, or “turbinate hypertrophy.”
Our Airwaystents work to mechanically push the turbinate aside to allow for better airflow.

Design
The product is made from a high-performance thermoplastic elastomer and features a patented retainer designed to securely hold the stent in place. Its innovative design helps maintain airflow through the nasal turbinates for improved nasal airflow.
Installation & Insertion
- Take the silicon installation tube and put the sharp end into the long end of the stent.
- Insert the tube until it slightly protrudes past the end of the stent. See diagram 12
- Carefully position the stent at the nostril.
- Insert the stent gently and approximately horizontally, directing it straight back through the nasal passage toward the earlobe rather than upward.
- Avoid directing the tube upward, as incorrect positioning may cause discomfort or pain.
- Continue insertion until the umbrella basket is positioned at the nasal entry point.
- Never force the stent into the nasal passage.
Medical Considerations
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before using the device if you have concerns about whether an intranasal device is appropriate for you, particularly if you have an existing nasal condition, have recently undergone nasal surgery, experience recurrent nosebleeds, or have significant nasal obstruction. If you suspect you may have obstructive sleep apnea, consult a qualified healthcare professional. The Airwaystent is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent obstructive sleep apnea.
